Essential Educational Staffing is recruiting qualified teachers for international schools in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Two-year contracts start 1 September 2026, with salaries of USD 2,000 to 3,000 per month, plus employer-arranged housing, comprehensive medical insurance and full visa support. Openings cover core subjects, lower-grade homeroom positions, music and art.
This is a strong opportunity for teachers who want to take their career in a new direction. Jeddah sits on the Red Sea coast and is one of the most liveable cities in the Kingdom. It is cosmopolitan, walkable in parts and home to a long-standing community of international teachers. The school group is well known locally for its inclusive culture and steady investment in staff development.
Positions available include English, Maths and Science teachers, lower-primary homeroom teachers, and specialist music and art teachers. Some applicants will already have international school experience; others will be qualified teachers ready for their first overseas posting. Both are welcome.
Classes follow an international curriculum delivered in English. You'll work alongside a multicultural team of teachers from the UK, Ireland, North America, Australia, South Africa and the Philippines, with strong local support staff and a leadership team that values open communication. Class sizes are reasonable and resources are good.
Salary is paid in US dollars and ranges from USD 2,000 to USD 3,000 per month, depending on the school's internal evaluation of qualifications and experience. The full package includes employer-arranged housing, comprehensive medical insurance, end-of-contract gratuity and paid school holidays. Visa and work permit costs are covered by the school. Flights are typically reimbursed at the start and end of the contract. Final details vary by position and are confirmed at offer stage.
Visa and relocation support is fully provided. Our team will guide you through every step, including document attestation, visa processing, flights and the first few weeks in Jeddah, so the move is as straightforward as possible. If you're applying from outside Saudi Arabia, we'll help you understand what to expect before you sign anything.
This position is open to TEFL teachers and qualified teachers from any English-speaking country. Female applicants are very welcome, as the school group includes girls' sections that specifically prefer female teaching staff.
We offer a comprehensive package
Qualifications and requirements:
International school teachers in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, earn between USD 2,000 and USD 3,000 per month, paid tax-free in US dollars. The exact figure is set by the school's internal evaluation, based on your qualifications, teaching experience and the position you apply for. Specialist subject teachers and those with master's degrees usually sit at the top of the range.
Yes. The school provides accommodation as part of the package, so teachers do not pay rent out of their salary. Most teachers are housed in compounds or apartments near the school. Utilities are usually covered. This is standard practice for international school positions across Saudi Arabia and one of the main reasons take-home pay is high.
You will need a bachelor's degree (ideally in your teaching subject or Education), a recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE, B.Ed or QTS, and at least one year of classroom experience for most positions. TEFL or TESOL certification is accepted for some positions. All documents must be attested for use in Saudi Arabia, and our team handles the process for you.
Yes. Jeddah is one of the more relaxed and cosmopolitan cities in the Kingdom and is home to a large community of female international teachers. Recent reforms have expanded freedoms for women, including driving, travelling, and working independently. The school provides safe employer-arranged accommodation and full visa support. Female teachers are actively welcomed, especially for girls' sections.
No. International school positions are open to teachers of any faith, and the school group hires staff from the UK, Ireland, North America, Australia, South Africa and the Philippines. You will need to respect local customs and dress conservatively in public, but there is no requirement to convert. Many teachers find Jeddah's religious culture interesting rather than restrictive.
The contract is two years, starting 1 September each academic year. Most teachers stay for at least one full term. The two-year length reflects how visa sponsorship works in Saudi Arabia and gives the school stability. An end-of-contract gratuity is paid when you complete the contract, which is a significant lump sum and a key part of the financial package.
A flight allowance is typically included as part of the package, usually paid at the start and end of the contract. Exact terms vary slightly by position and are confirmed in your offer letter. Visa costs, work permit fees, and document attestation are all covered by the school. You do not need to pay anything upfront to begin the position.
Current openings include English, Maths, and Science (core subjects), lower-primary homeroom teachers, and specialists in Music and Art. The curriculum is international, delivered in English, and follows recognised academic standards. If you have a specific subject in mind, contact us, as the school group has several sites and positions open across grade levels.
